Take action in your community

Everyone can play their part in tackling plastic pollution by taking simple steps to reduce their reliance on plastic and disposing of it responsibly.

We can multiply that effort and have a much bigger impact if we come together as a community to take action against plastic pollution.

Whether you are part of an existing group or would like to start your own, we have put together some resources to help!

If you are passionate about taking action on litter in your community, why not become a #LitterHero?

Teaching the next generation

The Environment Agency has developed a series of resources that can be used in schools to help guide the next generation in creating a plastic pollution-free world!

Learn about the journey of plastics with your class by navigating a series of online films and activities via this interactive map. By clicking on different points of the map, students can learn how plastic pollution travels through our toilets and drains to rivers and oceans having started life as a balloon, plastic-food wrap, litter, clothing and agricultural materials. Use this set of resources to learn about the journey of plastic pollution from different sources as it travels through our rivers and into our ocean.  Click on different points of the interactive map to take you through to a short introductory video and an activity on each topic.  Topics include balloons, toilets, lunchboxes and bins.
