Become a flag assessor or judge
Without our army of volunteer assessors and judges, we couldn’t deliver our accreditation programmes.
These dedicated, enthusiastic and knowledgeable individuals visit thousands of parks, beaches and schools each year, assessing them against our strict award criteria.
It’s thanks to these individuals, giving up their time, that we can accredit and celebrate the very best beaches, schools or green spaces and support others to reach these internationally-recognised standards.
As our awards continue to grow, we are always looking for new volunteers to join us, so if you are interested, find out more.
Green Flag Award assessors
For the Green Flag Award we are looking for individuals with a background in nature conservation, ecology, parks management, environmental issues or a related area.
Eco-Schools assessors
As a volunteer Eco-Schools assessor you will visit schools in your area, talking to the Eco-Coordinator and pupils to help us assess whether a school has met the award criteria. Full training is provided, so a teaching or sustainability background is not essential, but a passion for Eco-Schools and our aims is.
