UK Fishing Net Recycling

The UK’s first fishing net recycling system.

We are proud to have helped develop the first UK system for processing fishing trawl nets. From fishing harbour, beach or even seabed we take these giant nets and work with our recycling partner Milspeed to provide a recycled plastic pellet to UK industry.

The UK's first fishing net recycling system

For two years we have been collecting nets washed up on beaches alongside 40 tonnes of nets collected from the UK’s biggest fishing harbour, Brixham. These nets have aided the development of this new system with Milspeed that will assist the UK fishing industry and also make a meaningful contribution to the UK circular economy. Prior to this fishing nets, which are a challenging material to recycle, have had to be shipped to Europe to be processed. We can offer a fully traceable UK system from beach or harbour to recycled pellet.

We have achieved funding through The ScottishPower Foundation and the Swire charitable trust to provide a free collection and UK recycling system to harbours across the UK.
