Local neighbourhood scoops our top award

Salford's Salix Homes is celebrating after scooping our Platinum Neighbourhood Award, for their efforts to improve their local neighbourhood, Spike Island area in Lower Broughton. 

The prestigious award recognises and celebrates the country's very best social housing providers - working to create the cleanest, safest and greenest neighbourhoods. 

Judges were impressed by Salix Homes’ efforts to improve the neighbourhood, with regular litter picks, clean-ups and community events to encourage residents to take pride in their communities.

Each year their Love Your Neighbourhood campaign, sees the community join forces to celebrate their area. They've also recruited a network of volunteer Community Connectors to share their neighbourhood knowledge and highlight people's most important issues.
