The “Royal stamp of approval” is helping to persuade and inform our local public of the merits of our litter volunteers' activities.

MPs, local authorities and Keep Britain Tidy's own experts contributed to a discussion on the steps that are needed to tackle the country's fly-tipping epidemic at latest meeting of Tidy Britain All-Party Parliamentary Group.

Parks provide crucial benefits to people and their pets including safe spaces to exercise, play, and relax. They also play an important role in providing habitat for wildlife and climate change resilience.

“Fly-tipping isn’t just unsightly, it’s often linked to organised criminal networks making millions of pounds by exploiting gaps in enforcement and undercutting legitimate businesses."

Fly-tipping is not a victimless crime nor is it petty offending, it is organised crime that undermines responsible businesses, damages our environment and erodes public trust.

"What began as frustration turned into action and I was gifted a litter pick, grabbed a bag, picked up what I could, and didn’t stop. From that moment, I realised that small, consistent actions could inspire big change in a community.”

Our Green Flag Award and campaigning work advocates for quality green infrastructure to benefit people, nature and climate resilience.
