When you see a Green Flag flying, you know you're in a great park. It’s the international mark of a well-managed park or green space that is welcoming, safe, clean and meet community needs. We manage this scheme on behalf of the UK government and deliver it with partners worldwide.

The Green Flag Award celebrates a park's commitment to protecting nature and wildlife, as well as its active involvement with the local community. So, whether you're looking for a peaceful walk, a place for the kids to play or a vibrant community hub, you can be confident you’ve found a top-quality green space.

The Green Heritage Site Accreditation is a special accreditation for green spaces with a rich history. Think of it as a quality mark that says, 'This park has a story!'

Working with Historic England, we recognise and celebrate the places that are protecting and sharing their unique historical or cultural features. When a park has this accreditation, you can be sure that its past is being carefully preserved, and that its historic features are easily accessible for you to enjoy and learn from.

Our Seaside Award is a national mark of quality for England's beaches. It celebrates the diversity of our coastline, recognising everything from popular swimming spots to quiet beaches.

Unlike the international Blue Flag Award, the Seaside Award is given to a broader range of coastal sites, including those without designated bathing waters. When a beach has this award, it's a sign that it is clean, safe, and well-managed, with effective controls for litter and waste.
