KFC Volunteer Equipment Scheme

We know that the work volunteer #LitterHeroes do, day in, day out, to make their local community a better place is incredible. That's why, earlier this year, we teamed with KFC to offer vouchers to local #LitterHeroes to be used on our litter-picking equipment store.

We received 915 requests for vouchers and are thrilled to announce that KFC provided additional funding to ensure that every person who requested support with equipment was able to receive it.

The scheme is now closed and all vouchers have been allocated.

Here's what some of the recipients had to say about the scheme:

Pat Smith, Cornwall

"I am 74 and call myself an Eco Activist on my Instagram account @Action_Nan

I care passionately about the Environment by helping to look after it and I run 2 litter picking groups with about 40 regular volunteers doing beach cleans and litter picks in Mevagissey and Charlestown where I live.

The litter pickers are much needed as our groups keep growing! Thank you."

Paul Ellison, Rochdale

"Our group of Litter Heroes in Norden, Rochdale work all year round to make the place we live, a clean and beautiful place.

Our group consists of about 40 volunteers, and with the help of KFC, I have been able to provide more litter pickers to the volunteers.

Without the support of businesses, community groups and charities would struggle, so a big thank you to KFC."

Helen Hindson, Northumberland

"If needed we can borrow litter pickers from the local council BUT they have no children's size so the KFC scheme has been brilliant as we managed to get those.

"The Brownie group has already signed up to use them and I'm hoping the first school in the village will too.

"I am also in a red squirrel conservation group. We hold regular activity days in East Cramlington Nature reserve so the small pickers will also come in useful with the cub and beaver groups to keep this lovely green space tidy."
