Keep Britain Tidy's Buy Nothing New Month campaign wins coveted National Recycling Award

Keep Britain Tidy is delighted to announce that its Buy Nothing New Month campaign has been awarded Campaign of the Year – over £10k at the prestigious National Recycling Awards.

The innovative campaign which inspires people to not buy anything new for a whole month to reduce their environmental footprint, was praised by the expert judging panel who said: “This is a bold campaign with a very strong message. It shows us the shape of future campaigns, with a model that fully integrates and harnesses modern social media.”

This significant accolade underscores Keep Britain Tidy's commitment to promoting sustainable practices and inspiring positive change.

The National Recycling Awards, held annually, recognise excellence and innovation within the recycling sector. Keep Britain Tidy's victory, shared with Barley Communications, highlights the charity's leadership in advocating for sustainable solutions and its ability to engage audiences through impactful campaigns.

MRW editor Corin Williams commended the resilience and creativity of the recycling industry, particularly during challenging times. The awards serve as a platform to acknowledge the sector's contributions to environmental sustainability and its role in shaping a more responsible future.

As Buy Nothing New Month prepares for its return in January, Keep Britain Tidy invites everyone to join the movement and embrace a more mindful approach to consumption. Together, we can collectively reduce our impact on the environment and foster a more sustainable society.

The Buy Nothing New Month campaign is supported by players of People’s Postcode Lottery.
