KFC COMMITS TO CLUCKING DOWN ON LITTER WITH NATIONWIDE COMMITMENT

KFC UK & Ireland is on a mission to tackle litter and has announced a new commitment to address the litter problem around its restaurants, with a set of initiatives as part of its pledge to our Great British Spring Clean.

KFC UK & Ireland has announced its latest commitment to tackling litter around its restaurants with a set of new initiatives. Launched in celebration of its partnership with our Great British Spring Clean, KFC’s latest litter initiatives will look to improve the wellbeing and future of the local communities KFC is a part of.

KFC restaurants across the country already undertake daily litter picks, but to work more closely with others on eliminating litter, KFC has created a dedicated mailbox to answer issues and queries related to litter. Anybody concerned about KFC litter will be able to quickly and easily email litter@kfc.co.uk to get direct help with any ongoing litter problems around KFC restaurants in their local areas.

As another initiative and to get all restaurant teams on board, KFC will introduce new training for all its team members to increase their knowledge of the environmental impact of litter and to re-energise their commitment.

And finally, KFC will also be consulting with local councils initially in five regions across England – and all with significant issues around litter – to roll out targeted, pilot programmes around tackling litter and exploring longer term and local solutions. With this approach, in regions including the West Country, the North East, the North West, Yorkshire & The Humber, and London, KFC will be able to work together with local councils to test how different approaches can make a difference on the ground.

Through these new initiatives, KFC is demonstrating its commitment to doing more to clear litter from our streets and local spaces, and, on Tuesday 1 June, KFC is kicking off this activity and the start of the Great British Spring Clean by sending its restaurants across the country on a nationwide litter pick. From Dundee to Torquay, KFC team members from more than 600 restaurants will be out and about litter picking, making sure the areas it serves are kept clean and tidy.
