Getting Support from your Local Authority

Whether you are a first-timer picking up litter on your daily dog walk, a family whose kids have pestered you for a family pick-up or a seasoned pro, we have all the advice and info you need to get started.

Please read the clean-up preparation, safety advice and Terms and Conditions. In particular, please note that Keep Britain Tidy is not responsible for (and will accept no liability to you for) any losses or damages you incur or suffer in connection with your participation in the Great British Spring Clean 2025, save to the extent that such liability cannot be limited or excluded by law.

At the start of the Great British Spring Clean, we write to every local authority to ask them how they will support local #LitterHeroes during the campaign.

We ask whether people can borrow equipment, where to leave collected litter and whether there is a nominated person at the local authority to help out with advice or bags.

Please search for your local authority in our spreadsheet to find the advice we have been supplied with for your area.

We update this page regularly, so if you don't see your local authority here, it's because they haven't yet shared their information with us.

If you are from Scotland or Wales, please reach out to our friends at Keep Scotland Beautiful or Keep Wales Tidy, who will be able to assist with your enquiries.
