Why is Perception Different to Reality?

This one-day course aims to promote understanding of the issues that drive perceptions of place and equip delegates with practical tools to influence positive change in the way the public perceives your neighbourhoods and services. Delegates will learn to explain the 'perception/reality gap' and apply Keep Britain Tidy’s ‘Scale of Deprivation’ and ‘Perception Wheel’ tools to explain drivers affecting local perceptions and 'nudge' negative views to positive ones.

Who it's for: Anyone working in the public realm, including local authority managers and officers, particularly those in communication, neighbourhood management, and resident involvement roles.

Duration: One day.

Effective Planning for Community Projects

This course is based on a simple but effective method of outcomes monitoring. It will help delegates to both identify the desired outcomes of their work and plan a simple strategy for monitoring those outcomes in order to communicate the value of their work to funders and stakeholders. The approach can be applied both to teams/departments/schemes and to standalone projects.

Who it's for: Officers, managers, and leaders working in the public sector who are challenged by the difficulties of demonstrating the benefits, progress, and changes that result from programmes of work to engage with and educate the public on environmental issues.

Duration: One day.

Cost: Contact us for Member and Non-Member pricing.
