Great British Spring Clean Awards
Nominate a local #LitterHero for an award.
Across the country our Litter Heroes and partners have gone above and beyond to spruce up their communities and clear litter as part of the Great British Spring Clean, and this is your chance - and ours - to say a huge thank you.
The Great British Spring Clean Awards are the Golden Globes of the litter-fighting community one might even call them the Green Globes!
Applications for our 2026 awards will open in February.
We have seven public awards up for grabs, which are detailed below. Nominate on behalf of yourself/your group, or another Litter Hero who has inspired you in one of the categorys listed.
Applications can be made from February 2026 and will close in May. Entries will be considered by our judging panel over the summer and a winner in each category will be announced at the launch of the 2027 campaign. Under 18s will need to be nominated by an adult, and the details of their parent or guardian submitted.
This category is open to the general public (over 18s) and is for an individual volunteer that has led the way in inspiring others to tackle litter, for example by pledging an extraordinary number of bags or conducting a huge number of litter-picks during the campaign.
This category is open to the general public and is for volunteers aged under 18 that have gone above and beyond in protecting their environment during the campaign, perhaps even inspiring other young people by their example. It could be an individual or a youth group - but for a school based project please nominate under the Super Student award.
This award recognises one of our registered Litter Heroes Ambassadors or Care Group Leaders who has gone to extraordinary levels to engage their volunteers and communities during the campaign and ramp up support for the cause.
