Sarah Lund

Board Member

An environmental scientist by academic background, Sarah’s career spans almost 20 years, working in the sustainability, regulatory and strategy fields. 

Sarah’s main interests lie with organisational effectiveness, governance and the effective execution of corporate strategy aligned to sustainability goals.  She is an advocate of collaboration and chaired the 2015 Prince of Wales’ ‘Accounting for Sustainability’ European project on integrating long-term sustainability mega-trends into risk management frameworks.  She is also the founder of the Chadwick Group, a Yorkshire business leaders’ sustainability network.

Sarah spent fourteen years in the water sector with Kelda / Yorkshire Water, where she led the strategy and sustainability agenda at group level, ensuring that sustainability was an integral part of the organisation’s vision and long-term strategic objectives.  Sarah also led business areas such as business change, internal audit and risk management. 

Sarah now works at the University of Leeds. where she is the Director of a large organisation-wide change programme to enhance the processes and systems that underpin student education. 

In Sarah's own words, “I still remember taking part in a litter pick when I was in the Brownies back in the 1980s! Being on the board of Keep Britain Tidy has continued my life-long passion to try to help create a cleaner, greener country.  I particularly support the Green Flag Award and Blue Flag schemes which have been adopted as national and international standards for public green spaces and clean beaches.”
