Richard McIlwain

Deputy Chief Executive

Richard has been with Keep Britain Tidy for eight years and prior to that spent 20 years working for the Environment Agency and the National Rivers Authority.

He graduated from Lancaster University with a degree in Environmental Science in the 1980s and has been a passionate environmentalist ever since.

Richard has been active in developing the charity’s mission to eradicate litter, prevent waste and create great public space, overseeing the development of our work across many of our programmes, campaigns and policy initiatives.

He is a keen advocate for disruptive ideas and innovation that leads to genuine environmental change.
