Events Assistants (North London) - 5 posts

We are looking for five Events Assistants to work in North London

Salary: £10.55 per hour

Contract: Casual Contract

Hours: ​Part-time

Location: Across the London Boroughs of Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Hackney, Haringey, Islington and Waltham Forest

Keep Britain Tidy is working with North London Waste Authority to deliver a series of food waste prevention events throughout summer 2019. The events will be delivered at outdoor locations across the London Boroughs of Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Hackney, Haringey, Islington and Waltham Forest from the middle of July until early September 2019. These events are designed to highlight, tackle and reduce the level of food an average household wastes or disposes of incorrectly in a year through public engagement on the issue.

Each Waste Less, Lunch Free event will be attended by five Events Assistants, supervised by a Keep Britain Tidy Project Manager. Full training will be provided on Friday 12 July 2019.

There will be 7 events in total, taking place on a selection of dates as follows:

• 17 July (Barnet)

• 20 July (Haringey)

• 26 July (Hackney)

• 1 August (Camden)

• 10 August (Islington)

• 22 or 29 August (Waltham Forest)

• 7 September (Enfield)

Please note these dates may be subject to change.

These positions will provide sought-after experience for those looking for a career in the environmental sector, especially the waste and recycling industry, and are paid at the London Living Wage. These positions also offer a chance to change the way people view food waste and make a real impact on waste prevention across North London. Further employment may be available at the end of this contract.
