University students are our latest litter heroes 16 February 2017

Fed up with litter in their town, students from the Geography and Environmental societies of Plymouth University decided to do something about it and make a difference on their own doorstep.

Joining the Great British Spring Clean, they'll be out on 5 March to rid the city's streets of litter. The organisers are inviting their fellow students and other members of the community to join them, in what they hope to turn into a regular event for the city. They've even got the support of Great Western Railway too.

It's fantastic that these students saw a problem in their new home town and decided to tackle it themselves - that's why they are our new litter heroes. Inspired by their story? Sign up for the Great British Spring Clean too
