Suzy Brain England OBE

Suzy was appointed as Chair of Keep Britain Tidy in September 2016.

Suzy is a current member of the Institute of Director's Accreditation and Standards Committee and a former Chartered Director mentor. Currently, she is also the Chair of Derwent Living Housing Association and Chair of the Board at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust. Suzy chaired Voice UK, a charity which supports victims of crime who have learning difficulties. She was awarded an OBE for her work as Chair of the Department of Work and Pensions Decision Making Standards Committee.

She began her career as a journalist and broadcaster and in her executive roles she has been CEO of the Talent Foundation and the Earth Centre in South Yorkshire which enabled Suzy to develop an understanding of Sustainable Development, a core vale for Keep Britain Tidy. Suzy is also a former non-executive director at Barnsley NHS Foundation Trust and was a director at Focus Central London Training and Enterprise Council.

In Suzy's own words, “I am thrilled to join such a driven team to develop and expand our crucial work here in Keep Britain Tidy. We have a great diversity of skills to put our developmental strategy into place and put us in the centre of improving our environment. We can help make lives better for our citizens by helping them to be aware of, and improve, the spaces we live in. After years of working on boards in different fields, I have realised that so many separate areas – good health and housing, and more crime-free areas – work hand in hand with the work of Keep Britain Tidy for us all to have happier and improved lives.”
