Our project officer wins university award 16 June 2017

Congratulations to Camille at Clean Sheffield for winning a student employee of the year award.

We are delighted that our Clean Sheffield project officer, Camille, has won the off-campus commercial impact student employee of the year award at Sheffield University, with Keep Britain Tidy winning the employee of the year category. As well as working as our Clean Sheffield project officer, Camille is also studying part time for an MSc in Environmental Change and International Development.

These national awards celebrate students that work part time alongside their studies. As well as working as our Clean Sheffield project officer, Camille is also studying part time for an MSc in Environmental Change and International Development.

After receiving her award at a recent ceremony, Camille will now go on to the regional awards (and hopefully to Nationals too). On receiving her award, Camille said, "It was great to win the award as it was a recognition of the hard work I’ve put into both the project and into my studies.

"It’s not easy managing studying and working, however I really enjoy working on Clean Sheffield as it’s given me valuable experience in managing a new project from scratch and in a subject I am passionate about. I especially like meeting and working with the local community as there are such keen people here in Sheffield. I’m relatively new to the city so it’s been a fantastic way to get out and meet like-minded people, in order to make a difference."

The #CleanSheffield campaign started in 2016 with a partnership between Sheffield City Council and Keep Britain Tidy. The aim of the campaign is to encourage more businesses, community groups and individuals to take pride in their community and not to drop litter on the ground.
