Dog fouling Solutions

Dog fouling – whether loose or bagged – is offensive, disgusting and a potential health hazard. It is a widespread problem, but sometimes changing the behaviour of just a few thoughtless dog owners can make a big difference.

Nine out of 10 dog owners clean up after their dog. Our innovative campaigns target the few who don’t. Whether reminding people there’s no such thing as the dog poo fairy, asking them to do it for their dog, or reminding them that we’re watching you, our campaigns make a real impact. Training your workforce in dog issues, enforcement and the law will give them the knowledge, skills and confidence to tackle the issue on the ground.

"The We're Watching You campaign has been very successful in Manchester. It's been very popular with our Friends of Parks Groups who report feeling confident that the campaign sends out a very strong message to dog owners to clean up after their dog. Residents also approve of the campaign and often refer to it as 'the eyes'. We have found that moving the location of 'the eyes' within the same area helps gives longevity to the campaign as it means that dog walkers who might change their route can't escape the campaign's powerful (and glow in the dark) stare. The campaign certainly gives a nudge to the small minority of dog owners who might otherwise just walk away."
