Have your work published in our Journal

We’re looking for people who would like to have their environmental work published in our Journal of Litter and Environmental Quality and share their learnings with the world.

Our Journal of Litter and Environmental Quality is an open-access, peer-reviewed publication and contains research on litter and local environmental quality carried out by academics, practitioners and other experts in the field.

If you’ve completed work in the area of litter and the environment that you would like to have published, or know of a research project, programme or case study that you think would be useful for people to hear about, please download the Call for Articles for the third edition and find out how you can get involved.

We are open to submissions of both longer research pieces and shorter case studies, on a wide array of topics and in light of the profound impact of documentary ‘Blue Planet 2’, we will also welcome articles about the impact of littering on marine life.

Through our Journal we aim to showcase the latest research, stimulate new research in this area, and encourage the application of research findings through identifying policy calls and ideas for practical innovation on the ground.

In the previous two additions we have published articles about local authorities tackling fly-tipping, the impact of balloons on beaches, small mammal mortality in discarded bottles and cans, and social experiments on the most frequently littered items.

Submissions for the third edition are due by 21 September 2018.  The first and the second editions of the Journal are available to download here.
