Aim
This course aims to provide front-line employees (street sweepers) with the knowledge and understanding needed to perform their operational tasks in a manner which is efficient, safe, and has regard to others who may be affected by their activity or presence.
Objectives
By the end of this training delegates will be able to:
- State that they have a clear understanding of the importance of the role of the street sweeper and the contribution which they make to society;
- Identify correct equipment for cleansing tasks;
- State the most effective methods of performing cleansing tasks;
- Demonstrate an understanding of the basic Health and Safety at Work requirements.
Who would benefit by attending this course?
This course is aimed at local authority street sweepers, street sweepers employed by contractors, manual staff employed by facilities managements organisation on street sweeping duties.
This course can be used as part of an induction programme for new starters or as a motivational tool for existing staff.
Course duration
Delivered on-site, this course will take 2-3 hours depending upon needs and circumstances. Off-site demonstrations can be arranged on request.

- 1 course £1500 (maximum number of 14 delegates)
- We can offer a discount price of £2800 for 2 courses if provided on same day (usual price £3000).
