We are are looking for 4 Events Assistants to work in North London

Salary: £10.55 per hour

Location: Across the London Boroughs of Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Hackney, Haringey, Islington and Waltham Forest 

Contract: Casual contract until 10 March 2019

The North London Waste Authority is working with the Waste Services Team at Keep Britain Tidy to deliver a series of seven ‘Swish and Style’ (clothes swapping) events and one food waste prevention event at venues across the London Boroughs of Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Hackney, Haringey, Islington and Waltham Forest in January, February and March 2019. The ‘Swish and Style’ events are designed to encourage the reuse and repair of textile items, helping to reserve valuable resources and divert reusable items from disposal. The food waste prevention event aims to engage with residents on reducing food waste with a focus on bread.

We are looking for four Events Assistants who will work on each event (5.5-6.5 hours). The project will start with training on Wednesday 9 January 2019 and is expected to finish on Sunday 10 March 2019.

The successful applicants will have an interest in and understanding of the environment and waste sectors, excellent interpersonal skills and experience of engaging with the public.

These positions will provide sought-after experience for those looking for a career in the environmental sector, especially the waste and recycling industry, and are paid at or above the London Living Wage. In joining this project you also have the opportunity of joining our Bank of Casual Workers, through which further employment may be available at the end of this contract.

Full training will be provided at the start of the project.
