Pod poster pack give away and medal prizes to be won

10 October 2012

Throughout October, when you start one of either the Pod’s energy or climate science activities they will send you a free poster pack. All Pod resources have been designed to make learning easier for your students and most will help you make a real and measurable difference to your school building or grounds too. What’s more the work you carry out can also be used as evidence towards your Eco-schools award.

The climate science activity, degree’s of change looks at how the global climate is changing and the global impacts and causes of global climate change. This activity is perfect to begin addressing the global citizenship topic within the Eco-Schools framework and also has strong curriculum links to Geography, citizenship and PSHE.

There’s a wide range of energy activities available on the Pod and as energy is a compulsory topic within the Eco-Schools programme starting one today could help kick start your Eco-Schools journey.

Make sure you begin your activity by carrying out your start audit and be sure to update your blog about the work you have been doing and upload any photo’s to your gallery. Using the Pod’s pod-o-meters will help you track your progress and any potential savings you make, this can help contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of your Eco-Schools work.

What’s more when you finish the activity you could be awarded a Pod medal. Until the end of 2012 as well as appearing on the Pod medal table, winners will be sent a real medal to display in school as well as a set of 32 pin badges each one with a certificate so you can recognise and reward your students for their great work.

Visit the Pod’s activities section for all the energy and climate science activities along with all the resources you need to run them successfully. If you haven’t already, sign up to the Pod today.
