Sixty students enjoy a Spring planting day at Homebase Bromborough
Homebase Bromborough has been entertaining its partnered Eco-School with a fun planting day in store. Sixty students from Christ The King Catholic Primary School visited the Bromborough store during March to learn all about the season of Spring.
Students were invited in to the store by Homebase volunteers Darren and Sarah to have a look at the new growth on plants and to learn all about planting sunflower seeds. They also had great fun colouring in posters before being given a free pot full of compost and shown how to sow seeds.
Darren, from the Homebase Bromborough store explained: ''The pupils all planted up their seeds and I explained they need to water and look after them. I'll be heading in to the school in a few weeks to check on how they are doing and challenging the students to see who can grow the biggest sunflower – the winner will receive a prize".
