Lessons and activities
Many organisations produce useful activities and lesson ideas to enhance the curriculum. Here are a few of our favourites. All of these activities will help you link one or several of the Eco-Schools nine topics to the curriculum.
Rupert Bear Woodland Activity Pack
Rupert Bear and the Woodland Trust have teamed up to create the Woodland Magic Activity Pack. This contains lesson plans, activity sheets and teachers notes. The pack is free to download.
WaterAid Early Years Pack
This pack has been created by WaterAid in partnership with the Education Forum of the water companies of the UK and supported by the National Day Nurseries Association. The WaterAid Early Years Pack includes a range of activities and resources based around the water cycle, water conservation, water safety and water in other countries and provides links to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) learning goals.
Learning through Landscapes Outdoors
Learning Through Landscapes offers young children essential experiences vital to their well being, health and development in all areas. Learning taking place indoors can be supported and extended by applying it to "real" situations outdoors. Learning through Landscapes is an organisation which can offer advice to early years on how to make the most of their outdoor space. The website offers practical advice, case studies and resources
The Prince's Rainforest Project For Schools
The Prince's Rainforest Project has put together several lessons, or "Quests" for 3-5 year olds. They aim to give children practical tasks that enhance learning about rainforests and climate change across all six curriculum areas of the EYFS Framework.
