Sticky Shoes Highlight Gum Problems in Dublin
18 November 2009

Chewing gum is still a massive problem in England with results of a recent survey showing chewing gum related litter on 57% of streets.
Our neighbours in Ireland are also affected by this problem and came up with a novel way of highlighting the issue
Shoppers in Dublin got a shock when the true extent of their gum dropping habits were highlighted by a quirky campaign which placed a shoe on each piece of chewing gum embedded on the pavement.
Dublin City Council has challenged gum-related litter habits with an ambient advertising campaign called “sticky shoes”, reminding people that gum is better stuck in the bin than stuck to your feet!
The stunt attracted the attention of amateur photographers and was covered by local media, blogs and social networking sites.
