The Latest From The Keep Britain Tidy Conference

As the first day of the 'Delivering Quality Places Together' conference comes to a close we can reveal a snapshot of the days proceedings.

Speakers today included, Mark Carroll from the Department for Communities and Local Government, Daniel Ratchford from the London Borough of Sutton and Mike Franklin from Network Rail.

The topics that were covered ranged from The Localism Bill to examples of new council delivery models that authorities are using to adapt to the current changes.

Highlights inlcuded the presence of veteran BBC journalist Justin Rowlatt, who introduced the day, to topical debate on successful change- making techniques adopted by North Norfolk, Sutton and Lambeth Councils.

Natalie Forrester from Keep Britain Tidy said: "Discussions today were focussed on the changes that local councils are facing and the solutions they are adopting to meet these. By sharing information, and learning new techniques, they can make greater improvements to their communtities.'
