Duchess of Cornwall helps tackle Liverpool litter
29 July 2010

Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cornwall got stuck into some manual labour during a visit to Liverpool - joining Anfield residents in cleaning-up litter.
The distinguished guest was in the Old Barn area to see how the community had played a lead role in its own regeneration.
The royal visitor was given a march past and salute by the "Trash Army", a group of youngsters who volunteer to keep the streets clean.
Nicola Peate from Keep Britain Tidy said: “We are delighted to see the Duchess getting stuck in with the battle to rid our streets of litter.
“The ‘Trash Army’ are doing a brilliant job and I’m sure they really impressed their royal visitor. We hope that other people follow their lead.”
Camilla is not the only litter picking royal. Earlier this year Prince Phillip was spotted doing his bit when he picked up a discarded coffee cup at Sandringham.
The late Queen Mother used to be the patron of Keep Britain Tidy for many years spreading the anti-litter message to the country.
