Coming up at Keep Britain Tidy

06 April 2010

2010 is proving to be an exciting year for Keep Britain Tidy with lots going on. As spring has finally arrived we are planning our campaigns for over the summer months.

The Big Tidy Up is our national litter pick campaign that runs all year round. This year we are having a huge push on St George’s Day as we unite as a nation to go to battle with litter! Sign up now and get planning your litter pick.

In September we will be taking on the dog owners who “bag it, tie it” but forget to “bin it” when it comes to their dog’s mess!

There is a growing trend of dog owners who are remembering to bag dog poo but are not properly disposing of it and this campaign aims to highlight the dangers of doing this. The preparations for the campaign kick off in May with an event for local authorties at Aston Villa Football Club, Birmingham. To find out more about the event and to book your place click here.

There is more pride for our country in June as we cheer on England in the World Cup.

During this period we will bringing back our ‘Have Some Pride’ posters and car stickers so you can encourage patriotic football fans to show they care about England with more than just chants but by keeping our country beautiful!

In July we will begin our biggest campaign of the year with a crackdown on litter.

This campaign will target all litter and aim to show the litter louts that they have to take some responsibility for their actions. Keep checking the website for more information about this exciting campaign.

In August the Chewing Gum Action Group will be launching a hard hitting crackdown on chewing gum litter.

The campaign will work in partnership with around 15 local authorities, housing associations and town centre Business Improvement Districts who will receive paid-for advertising in their area for a month-long period to encourage the public to dispose of their used chewing gum responsibly.
