Application fees

Application fees are calculated to cover the cost of administering the Green Flag Award® Scheme. 
The cost of entry is based on the size of a site and its location. They must be paid each year you wish to enter for the Award.

The Green Flag Award®

England (sponsored by Communities and Local Government & Natural England)

Wales (sponsored by Welsh Assemby Government, Countryside Council for Wales, Design Commission for Wales & Environment Agency Wales)

Application for a site 300 hectares and over:

• £300.00 fee (plus VAT)

Application for a site from 20-299.99 hectares: 

• £235.00 fee (plus VAT) 

Application for a site from 0-19.99 hectares:

• £185.00 fee (plus VAT)  

Scotland, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland & The Netherlands

Application for a site 300 hectares and over:

• £800.00 fee (plus VAT)

Application for a site from 20-299.99 hectares: 

• £725.00 fee (plus VAT) 

Application for a site from 0-19.99 hectares:

• £675.00 fee (plus VAT)

Green Heritage Site

(In addition to the Green Flag Award® entry fee)

England (sponsored by English Heritage): 

• £80.00 fee (plus VAT)

Green Flag Community Award® (formally Green Pennant Award)

All Community Award® Applications: 

• There is now no charge for Green Flag Communty Award applications.
• Please note there is no additional charge for the Special Award for Innovation but you must be already applying for either the Green Flag or Green Flag Community Award®.
