In Hereford there is a lot of litter you often see it on every street some streets its not so bad but in the Barrs Court Road area near the college green bridge there is lots of litter throw over onto private property or the railway line, i am notifying my council of any litter on public land and i have contacted the landowner of the private land to arrange a litter pick but need volunteers now.
Last summer i decided to start collecting metal litter [soft drink/berr cans& tin foil ] that was lying around variouse parts of the railway yard that i work in, when i started it was just a few bits here & there see it ,pick it up & put in my jacket pocket but i soon realised there was far more scap lying around than i had realised ,so i started carrying carryer bags & up till now i reckon i have filled somewhere in the region of 24 bags for life iwith scrap metal rubbish all of them have been given to my council run recycling centre,attrntion is now being given to the collection of plastic bottles of which there are many.
The river and lakes in this area have a lot of rubbish floating in them that mostly day trippers have trown in Also there is a lot of dog mess in the area that owners do not clean up or if they do they throw the bags into nthe nvergers or trees
