Bringing long-term improvements in local environmental quality
Engaging your community and local residents is key to ensuring long-term improvements in local environmental quality, reducing public fear of crime, tackling anti-social behaviour and reinvigorating the local economy.
In the last few years, Keep Britain Tidy has been working with a number of landlords to help create cleaner, safer, greener estates and neighbourhoods. Some of our solutions include:
• Neighbourhood Charters
• Good practice information
• Market research
• Training for tenants, residents and frontline staff
• Service reviews (for example, for grounds maintenance contracts)
• Neighbourhood environmental quality monitoring and independent surveying
• Marketing strategies and campaigns
• Bespoke technical support
• Cleaner, Safer, Greener Neighbourhood Quality Mark
• Networking opportunities through the Keep Britain Tidy Network
Keep Britain Tidy is currently working with the following landlords: West Kent Housing Association, Wakefield and District Housing Association, Hackney Homes, Adactus Housing Group, Riverside Housing Group, Guinness Northern Counties, Lewisham Homes, Ealing Homes, Castle Vale, Bromford Housing Group and First Choice Homes.
In addition, we have established close links with a range of national and regional bodies including the Audit Commission, the Tenant Participation Advisory Service (TPAS) with whom we have developed joint training courses for tenants, National Housing Federation, Social Landlords Crime and Nuisance Group, the Northern Housing Consortium and the Housing Corporation.
As interest in this agenda from the housing sector grows, we are keen to continue to provide services to create cleaner, safer and greener neighbourhoods. Keep Britain Tidy has a dedicated Housing team that covers the whole of England who would be happy to discuss our work and how we could support you.
