How to apply for the Quality Mark
1. Registration
Complete and submit an application form identifying the neighbourhood to be assessed and at what level.
2. 'How to' workshop
Organised by Keep Britain Tidy, this workshop is non-compulsory but highly recommended as it will provide practical advice and support for organisations applying for any level of the Quality Mark.
3. Completing the workbook
Once the registration document is received, Keep Britain Tidy will send you the relevant workbook. The scope of evidence and information required is dependant upon the level being applied for.
4. Submitting the workbook
All applications must be submitted to Keep Britain Tidy via email for assessment. Please email csgqualitymark@keepbritaintidy.org for assessment. A completion date will be specified.
5. Assessment process
Keep Britain Tidy will allocate a Quality Mark assessor(s) from a pool of specially selected housing professionals trained, qualified and experienced in assessing against the Quality Mark standards. The assessor(s) will desktop assess the application, co-ordinate a site visit and then forward a written report to the Keep Britain Tidy Quality Mark Advisory Panel.
Passing the standard
Once your organisation has passed the standards required for the level of the Quality Mark, Keep Britain Tidy will provide certification and a logo to use on your stationery and promotional materials. The Quality Mark is held for two years before reassessment is required.
Failing to meet the Quality Mark standard
If an organisation fails to meet the required standards of the Quality Mark the final report will highlight the area(s) for improvement. You will have six months to make any necessary improvements before re-submission of your application. Quality Marks can also be awarded at a level lower than the stage applied for.
