This is the seventh in a series of Annual Reports from the Local Environmental Quality Survey of England produced by Keep Britain Tidy on behalf of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs to provide a report on the Cleanliness State of the Nation.
These Gauge Charts and Location of Litter Charts are supplementary to the LEQSE Year 7 (2007/08) Report and should be read in conjunction with the LEQSE Report. The information in the Gauge Charts is the same as that shown in the Trends Charts in the LEQSE Report, but in the LEQSE Report the data is expressed numerically rather than by bar charts.

Extended Local Environmental Quality Survey of England 2006/2008
Each of these local authorities has been provided with its own individual survey report which describes the state of cleansing, condition of street infrastructure plus the degree of obstruction to cleansing operations.

This is the first report using the new methodology whereby each local authority is surveyed at four monthly intervals over the course of a year. This ensures that seasonal differences are evened out, thus creating a report which is more sensitive and more representative than any of its predecessors.
