Our surveys
Keep Britain Tidy is an expert on cleaner and greener places, and has over 50 years of knowledge in this area. All of our work is backed up by researched knowledge and our surveys help us look at the issues, growing trends and give baseline figures that show increases or decreases in litter and related activity.
On behalf of Government, we conduct a annual survey of England’s streets looking at litter types, graffiti, fly-posting, staining and detritus to name a few. The methodology for this ‘State of the nation report’ comes from years of understanding the complexities of litter and related issues, takes into account seasonal differences and gives the country a focus on where improvements need to be made. The survey carried out by Keep Britain Tidy trained employees looks at 10,000 + sites each year, examining problems as diverse as the condition of bins to the state of landscaping – rating them as “Good”, “Satisfactory”, “Unsatisfactory” or “Poor.” To find out the results from annual surveys since 2002 click here.
Local authority reports
We recently surveyed every English local authority to help provide advice on the state of cleansing, the condition of street furniture and how obstructions can effect cleansing operations. These individual surveys were carried out between April 2006 and March 2008 on behalf of Government. Click here to see the individual report for your area.
