There are two programmes of work being delivered by the Foundation:
- A free sub-regional programme; and
- A partners programme
Sub-Regional Programme
The Foundation currently provides one annual Network Meeting and one Action Learning Day in each of the following areas (sub-regions): Cumbria, Cheshire, Greater Manchester and Lancashire. Keep Britain Tidy already has an extensive sub-regional programme running in Merseyside, so the additional NWLF work is being used to complement this programme.
We also hold one Annual Regional North West Liveability Foundation Conference which is designed to provide partners and non-partners the opportunity to network, hear about the progress across the programme and engage with national and regional speakers on relevant cleaner safer greener topics.
Attendance to these events is free but places are limited. Dates for the events will be shown on the events page once they have been agreed.
A detailed explanation of the individual elements of the programme can be found here. If you wish to receive more information on, or attend the free sub-regional events in your area, please contact us to register your interest.
Partners Programme
A partnership approach is vital in order to improve local environmental quality. Land is managed and owned by a range of organisations, both public and private, and an integrated approach is needed to drive up standards. The whole structure of the North West Liveability Foundation is designed to encourage partnership working between a range of partners and to share best practice and learning across the whole of the region.
The partners receive all of the above sub-regional programme, but on top of this they also receive a more comprehensive programme of work which is outlined below:
- Independent Annual Local Environmental Quality (LEQ) Survey (one in each of the three years)
- Independent resident or user perception study (two over three years to measure changes over time)
- Action planning (based on LEQ survey and perception study results)
- One annual partner network meeting
- Three action learning days
- Annual face-to-face meeting with a Keep Britain Tidy Director
- Opportunity to work alongside the Regional Strategic Group
- Access to additional flexible options to suit specific requirements
- Membership of the Keep Britain Tidy Network
