Driving improvements in the North West
The practical tools provided by the main partner programme are:
- Independent Annual Local Environmental Quality (LEQ) Surveys
- Independent resident or user perception studies
- Action planning
In addition to this, as members of the Keep Britain Tidy Network, partners also benefit from:
- National online toolboxes
Following the success of national ‘evidence gathering’ academies an associated toolbox is available on the members area of the Keep Britain Tidy website. The evidence gathering toolbox provides one-stop-shop solutions; it includes guidance, templates, forms, legislative information and much more.
- Legal advice and support
Impartial legal advice through “Ask the Wig” service, which gives a quick response to often very complex and detailed legal questions. All questions are logged and included in the national monthly e-bulletin to enable a databank to be developed. Additionally, a monthly article is included in the e-bulletin, highlighting a current topical subject. All members of the programme can send any legal queries to our ‘Ask the Wig’ service and receive important legal advice.

- Offence charting – evidence gathering and legal file preparation
Access to a case preparation system covering over 100 different scenarios from waste offences to dog control and antisocial behaviour. This system leads practitioners through a stepped approach to gathering evidence and legal file preparation.
- Campaigning leaflets and information
This includes 100 free copies of each Keep Britain Tidy public information leaflets, as new publications are developed these will also be provided either as an electronic publication or in hard copy. Members can also request larger print runs of these materials. Additionally, members have the opportunity to take part in national Keep Britain Tidy campaigns delivered under the “Keep Britain Tidy” banner.
- Access to Knowledge Banks
Keep Britain Tidy’ Knowledge Banks enhance the information provision for members, each covering one of a number of local environmental quality issues. These Knowledge Banks will be provided to network members three months before they become available to other land managers. There are currently 15 including a new one on criminal damage and anti-social behaviour.

- Discount on Keep Britain Tidy training courses
Keep Britain Tidy offers a variety of training courses around a broad range of issues. Members of the programme will receive priority notification of the courses and also a 25% discount for one person per course.
