#GBSpringClean school litter-acy competitions 11 September 2017

After the phenomenal success of last year's #GBSpringClean, with over 1,500 tonnes of litter collected, its back next year - March 2-4. To support the campaign, and prior to its launch, we are running two fantastic litter-acy competitions for schools.

Primary creative writing competition

The challenge is to write a short poem about litter.
National winners from KS1 and KS2 will be published in a Keep Britain Tidy ‘Litter Book of Poems’

KS3 and above persuasive writing competition

The challenge is to write an article on the impact of litter and why we shouldn't be embarrassed to pick it up (max 500 words)
Winning articles will be published on the Keep Britain Tidy and the Eco-schools website and in a national magazine.

How to get involved

Please submit your competition entries using our downloadable templates (primary and secondary) via email to info@greatbritishspringclean.org.uk by Friday 16th March, 2018. Don’t forget to include your name, school, age, address and contact phone number.

Don't forget, if you are an Eco-School (or would like to become one) then getting involved in these competitions can be used as evidence for the litter topic when applying for your Green Flag and also used to support the steps - linking to the Curriculum, informing & involving and monitoring & evaluating.
